MOSCOW (RNWire) - The National Depository Center (NDC), Russia's only settlement depository servicing the full range of Russian securities, announced today that Denis Soloviev, Deputy Director, NDC, has been elected to the Advisory Council of the Service Bureau of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA). The election took place at the bureau's meeting held in early June in Luxemburg.

The ANNA Service Bureau (ASB) is a center which receives and consolidates all information related to ISIN and CFI codes sent by ANNA members and partners, and then distributes this information through the ANNA international database. The Advisory Council is ANNA's managing body.

About ANNA:

Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) was founded in 1992 for the purpose of implementation of unified principles of identification of financial instruments in international securities markets. ANNA contributes to the integration of national securities markets and formation of stock market infrastructure.

ANNA has rapidly grown to become a global association of 76 members represented by central depositories, stock exchanges and regulators, each acting as a national numbering agency responsible for assigning International Securities Identification Numbers (ISIN) to securities and other financial instruments. The Association also includes 15 agencies acting as ANNA partners.

The aim of ISIN allocation is the standardized identification of financial instruments within single system and dissemination of data between stock market participants. International Identification Codes and standardized securities descriptions can be used in all areas of the financial market and are necessary for the provision of efficient clearing and settlement.

Main obligations of ANNA Members include:

  • Allocation of ISINs for all security types, listed and unlisted, in their area of responsibility according to ISO 6166 in conjunction with the latest version of ISIN guidelines;
  • Promotion of ISO Standard 6166 (ISIN) in their area of responsibility;
  • Dissemination of ISINs to the local and international securities industry as well as to other ANNA members;
