Share of OFZ in Foreign Nominees Accounts Reaches 28.91% in July 2020

According to data issued by the Information Center of National Settlement Depository (NSD), on 31 July 2020, the share of non-residents (calculated as a share of OFZ in foreign nominee accounts) demonstrated a slight decline as compared to June and reached 28.91% (based on the current nominal value) and 28.65% (based on the initial nominal value).

In July 2020, there were fluctuations between 28.86% - 29.62% (when a share was calculated based on the current nominal value) and 28.59 - 29.33% (when a share was calculated based on the initial nominal value that reflects a change in participants’ positions excluding the nominal value’s depreciation/indexation).

Meanwhile, on 31 July 2020, the share of OFZ in foreign nominees’ accounts and the accounts of fully foreign-owned financial institutions* equaled to 34.76% (based on the current nominal value). It was lower than in June 2020.

In July 2020, there were significant changes in non-residents’ share in the following categories:

  • The share in OFZ-PD 24021 maturing in April 2024 reduced by 15.12 p.p. to 35.70%;
  • The share in OFZ-PD 26215 maturing in August 2023 reduced by 3.10 p.p. to 47.37%;
  • The share in OFZ-PD 26224 maturing in May 2029 reduced by 2.04 p.p. to 51.67%;
  • The share in OFZ-PD 26217 maturing in August 2021 reduced by 1.97 p.p. to 14.44%;
  • The share in OFZ-PD 26234 maturing in July 2025 continued to grow following the June issuance and increased by 4.87 p.p. to 24.88%;
  • The share in OFZ-PD 26232 maturing in October 2027 grew by 2.74 p.p. to 20.97%;
  • The share in OFZ-PD 26212 maturing in January 2028 increased to 69.28%.
