NSD, being a member of the international Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) since 1999, performs the functions of the National Numbering Agency for Russia and the Substitute Numbering Agency for CIS countries. NSD's main task in this capacity is to assign international ISIN and CFI codes to securities and other financial instruments of Russian issuers, as well as to financial instruments issued or registered in Russia. In addition, NSD serves as a single center of information on assigned international codes in Russia and promotes the expansion of international identification codes in the Russian market.
NSD daily provides information on Russian financial instruments and their assigned ISIN and CFI codes to the ANNA international database, maintains up-to-date information on assigned ISIN and CFI codes, and participates in creating an effective international securities identification system by applying international standards for coding and classification of financial instruments in the Russian stock market.
NSD provides participants of the Russian market with information on ISIN and CFI codes assigned to foreign financial instruments, assists in assigning such codes if they have not been assigned previously, as well as in correcting assigned CFI codes if they do not meet the requirements of Russian legislation on securities qualification.
