Alexander Nazarov, NSD’s R&D Department Director, Presents Russia’s Securities Market Infrastructure to Chinese Investors

On 16 June 2015, a seminar “Russia’s Capital Market: New Opportunities” devoted to the Russian-Chinese investment cooperation was held by Gazprombank. Delegates from the Bank of Russia, Russia’s Ministry of Finance, Moscow Exchange, Chinese Embassy, Russian major issuers and representatives of China’s investment and banking community attended the event.

Alexander Nazarov, Head of Research and Development Department, National Settlement Depository (NSD), presented a report on Russian securities market infrastructure at the panel session. Mr. Nazarov described a procedure of entering the Russian securities market and spoke about opportunities provided by the central securities depository to foreign investors making transactions in Russian and CIS markets, as well as about NSD’s joint projects with Asian partners including China.

Such meetings and seminars represent a great opportunity for Asian financial market representatives receiving information about Russian securities market principles directly from market participants and regulators, and contribute to cooperation development and mutual investments.
