On 21 January 2006 nine years passed since establishment of NDC
During that time NDC transformed from the central depository for GKO-OFZ market to the biggest in terms of volume of securities in custody and the only settlement depository system in Russia servicing all types of domestic securities.

Chairman of the NDC Board of Directors Andrey Kozlov noted in his greeting that the ninth anniversary of the NDC was marked with two significant events: beginning of trading of Gazprom shares on MICEX Stock Exchange and NDC becoming a full member of the European Central Settlement Depository Association, which strengthened NDC's position as a leader in depository and settlement services on the Russian market.
"The past year was very successful for NDC", said A. Kozlov , "the Partnership shown growth in all of its activities. Value of securities held in custody grew by 34% and reached 1.8 trillion rubles, at the number of securities exceeded 50 billions. Number of transactions carried out per month increased greatly, at the end of the year a millionth client’s instruction was executed in NDC’s system. We hope that in the next year NDC will continue its growth and by its tenth anniversary will take up a leading place in the Russian stock market the settlement infrastructure".

MICEX President Alexander Potemkin stressed that decisions made in the last year to invest into new technological base for NDC and to gradually decrease fees for depository services, as well as to implement the project aimed at improving cooperation with registrars strengthen NDC’s position on equity market. Those decisions will help NDC to become a leader on all segments of the stock market and would allow to celebrate its tenth anniversary in a new capacity.
