National Settlement Depository (NSD), Russia’s central securities depository, participated in the Corporate & Financial Awards, one of the leading international communication awards. The competition is organized by Communicate Magazine, a London publication that covers corporate communications and IR issues.
The Corporate & Financial Awards recognize achievements in communications and finance aimed at investors, media, analysts and a wide range of stakeholders. Nominees include: major British and international companies. In 2015, numerous FTSE-100, 200 and 350 companies were nominated.
This year, NSD competed in the “Best communications with overseas investors and/or media” category and was nominated in an additional category – “Best in-house corporate and financial communications team”. NSD's achievements were recognized in both categories.
In the key category (“Best communication with overseas investors and/or media”), NSD presented its communication strategy for 2013-2015 with foreign audiences aimed at covering the creation of the central securities depository (CSD), the development of the Russian financial infrastructure and the launch of the corporate actions reform.
Key points of the communications strategy presented to the jury included the gradual presentation of Russian infrastructure to an international audience, creation of the CSD, the development of links with Clearstream and Euroclear, implementation of the corporate actions reform via educational activities for the professional community at forums and conferences, consistent and proactive interactions with media, direct and internet marketing campaigns, and the creation and distribution of analytical material about Russian infrastructure.
As a result of NSD team’s efforts, updated information about the market infrastructure was distributed widely among custodians, investors, analysts and counterparties. International partners recognized the importance of changes in Russia. The number of publications about NSD and Russian market reforms in English language media issued in main global financial centers increased significantly.
The jury gave NSD the silver award for its communications strategy.
In the additional category, "Best in–house corporate & financial communications team”, NSD was recognized as the runner-up.
