On 16 December 2016, the 6th Annual “Time for Innovations” Awards ceremony was held in Sochi under the support of Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development and Russian Venture Company. National Settlement Depository (NSD) won the award in the nomination “For implementation of innovative technologies in the financial market” in the Finance and Consulting category.
NSD was rewarded for the development and implementation of the e-proxy voting project. The expert council commended the depository’s contribution to the improvement of corporate actions processing in Russia.
E-proxy voting is an innovative technology for corporate actions processing that provides for electronic interaction between securities holders and issuers for the purpose of exchanging information and documents. The system was first implemented at NSD in August 2014. In April 2015, NSD significantly improved the technology bringing it into compliance with ISO standards.
NSD will continue to develop corporate action technologies. In 2017, the company plans to launch an innovative e-voting platform enabling securities holders to participate in shareholder meetings online, via the website.
About the Award
The “Time for Innovations” Award is the annual award of public importance which is granted for achievements in the innovation sphere recognized by the society and the business community. Among the winners are leaders of the Russian economy, which consider their innovative activities as the priority strategy and business model. The award was founded by the Social Projects Fund under the support by Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development and Russian Venture Company.
