On 22 July 2013, National Settlement Depository (NSD), Russia’s central securities depository, begins publishing information about updates of the Equity Securities Register administered by Russia’s Federal Financial Markets Service (FFMS).
Placement of this information is on the basis of an information interaction agreement concluded by FFMS and NSD on 29 December 2012.
In particular, NSD is to place information about resolutions made in respect of registration of securities issues, cancellation of additional codes, registration of presorts on the results of issuance etc.
It is anticipated that until 31 July 2013 information received by NSD from FFMS will be published on a trial basis, with full operation scheduled to begin 1 August 2013.
This project is an important step towards formation of an NSD-based corporate information center in line with global trends in this sphere. Centralizing and unifying the processes of collection, processing and distribution of corporate information will provide Russian and foreign investors with the highest level of servicing, convenience and prompt receipt of accurate information. The implementation of the project will help reduce investors’ expenses and to increase the level of protection of the rights and legal interests of Russian securities’ owners.About NSD
