MOSCOW – National Settlement Depository (NSD), Russia's only settlement depository servicing the full range of debt and equity securities of Russian issuers, reports that Eddie Astanin, Chairman of the company’s Executive Board, was elected the member of the Exchange Council of the Stock company Saint-Petersburg Currency Exchange (SPCEX) at the general meeting of shareholders of SPCEX held 31 May.
NSD owns 2.005% of shares in SPCEX and has right to nominate candidates to SPCEX's governing bodies.
Eddie Astanin has been Chairman of the Executive Board of NSD since 11 November 2010. A member of NSD Supervisory Board. From 28 November 2009 he held the post of NDC Director General and Chairman of NDC Directorship. He joined NDC in 2005 as Deputy Director/Chief Operating Officer. From 1994 till 2004 he held various positions at MICEX, from the Head of Operating Department to the Director of Government Securities and Money Market Division. Eddie Astanin graduated with honors from the Mozhaiskiy Military Engineering Institute (St. Petersburg) and the Finance Academy. Mr. Astanin is a Ph.D. in Technical Sciences.
