On 26 and 27 November 2015, National Settlement Depository (NSD), Russia’s central securities depository, held a workshop for representatives of the safekeeping infrastructures of the CIS countries. Specialists of the Central Securities Depository of Kazakhstan (KACD), Central Depository of Armenia (CDA) and the Republican Central Securities Depository of Belarus (RUE "RCSD") attended the event.
NSD managers presented the company’s key business areas to the colleagues from the AECSD country members’ CSDs.
Sergey Aristov, Director of Client Relations Department, NSD, opened the workshop and welcomed the participants. The company’s experts then presented NSD’s depository and settlement services, including settlement of transactions held on the Moscow Exchange, clearing services (DVP and FOP), pre-matching and Hold & Release services, settlement in ICSDs using NSD’s accounts, etc.
The first day of the workshop ended with a discussion of one of the most important events in Russia’s stock market infrastructure – the corporate actions reform. The representatives of NSD described the reform’s objectives and first results and put special emphasis on the e-proxy voting service.
The second day of the workshop was also eventful; it commenced with the presentation of NSD’s information services. In addition, the second day’s program included presentations of a number of NSD’s strategic business areas such as tri-party services, repository, tax agent and pre-LOU services.
At the end of the workshop the guests had an opportunity to ask questions and share their experience and views on the company’s presentations.
Such meetings contribute to the mutual integration and development of bilateral relations between the Eurasian accounting infrastructures, and allow obtaining information on specifics of safekeeping infrastructures’ functioning in the countries of the region.
