On 20 March 2014, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and Russia’s Trade and Industrial Chamber held the forum “Integration of Financial Markets of the Common Economic Space: Strategy and Tactics.” The event took place in Moscow. Delegates discussed the issues of harmonizing Russian law and taxation in the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space (CES), as well as matters of customer protection and improvement of the public's financial literacy. Among other issues considered by the delegates were new tasks and prospects for cross-border reinsurance as an efficient way to mitigate risks of the countries-CES members.
Sergei Aristov, Director of the Client Relations Department of National Settlement Depository (NSD), took part in the forum and presented a report on integration of the stock market infrastructure, settlements and clearing in the territory of the CES. Elena Gusalova, Director of Research and Development Department, NSD, also attended the forum.
Representatives of Russia’s and the CIS countries’ central banks, Moscow Exchange, Russia’s National Association of Securities Market Participants (NAUFOR), EEC and other financial markets participants presented reports at the forum.
