On 4 April 2015, NSD completed the third testing of the Disaster Recovery Plan scheduled for this year. The testing involved checks of the switching over and disaster recovery of the office IT systems and the SWIFT System at the company’s backup data center. In particular, the testing involved the testing of the operating procedure for the switching over of the systems in question, verification of the completeness and availability of information specified in the relevant sections of the Disaster Recovery Plan, and interaction between the company’s business units involved.

The system availability upon the switching over of the systems to the backup data center has been tested not only by NSD’s staff members, but also by NSD’s clients who had accepted the invitation to take part in the testing. In particular, the availability of the SWIFT System upon its switching over has been tested by 27 clients using the SWIFT System via NSD.

The practical testing and implementation of the IT System Disaster Recovery Plan and an in-depth analysis of the test results ensure prompt disaster recovery of NSD’s key IT systems and relevant databases, and allow for the enhancement of NSD’s internal procedures, including interactions between NSD’s business units.

To further develop and improve the business continuity processes aimed at ensuring disaster recovery of IT systems, a new testing of the Disaster Recovery Plan is scheduled for Q2 2015, which will involve, among other things, a follow-up on the recommendations to take remedial actions to address the shortcomings discovered earlier.
